Cricket: The Ashes: Jon's Edg of despair.

AUSSIE Jon Moss hit a dazzling 81-ball ton but Derbyshire collapsed in sight of their first County Championship home win in three years against Somerset - and then he handed over pounds 60 to a team-mate after England's win.

When news of the win was broadcast over the public address, all-rounder Graeme Welch ran from mid-off to cover in the middle of an over to claim his winnings from Moss, who coughed up pounds 25 with Michael Di Venuto and pounds 10 from physio Dave Harris.

Moss said: "I didn't think we had a chance of winning, which is why I had the cash in my pocket."
