Cricket: Monty: Let me know your secrets, Shane; FINAL ASHES TEST: AUSTRALIA v ENGLAND FROM SYDNEY.

Byline: DEAN WILSON, Cricket Correspondent, in Sydney

MONTY PANESAR will be making a beeline for Shane Warne at the end of the Sydney Test to bend his ear over the art of spin bowling.

Panesar's thirst for spin knowledge has led him to chats with the likes of Indian twirler Harbhajan Singh.

But in Warne he believes he can take some advice from the master before he bows out of international cricket for good.

England's slow left-armer has hailed Warne ahead of his final Test and still can't believe he is actually competing on the same stage as the leg-spinning legend.

But he has vowed to learn as much as he can before the game is over, even when it comes to the art of appealing which Warne has got down to a tee.

Panesar said: "It has been fantastic for me just to watch him bowl from the first Test to the last.

"This will be the last time he plays international cricket and coming to Australia and watching someone like him from a spinner's point of view has been like watching a magician.

"Even when I'm out there facing him as a batsman it is good fun and I do enjoy facing him. I enjoy watching the things he does, the way he bowls and coming from a spinner's perspective it is great to see.

"I'm very fortunate because 12 months ago I didn't think I would ever play on the same field as Shane Warne and watch him bowl, so for me it has been a great experience and something really fantastic.

"I haven't had a chance to chat with him as yet, but hopefully I will get the opportunity although I don't want to badger him with too many questions or he may get fed up with me.

"I would love to get the chance to talk to him so hopefully at the end of this Test series we can have a chat but I'll have to wait and see.

"For me, when it comes to appealing I guess I get a little bit excited. Shane Warne dictates the play in his arena, it is his theatre and he know what he is doing out there.

"He is someone who knows spin bowling inside out and it would be nice to get his views on it all."
