Cricket: Bug trouble hits Flintoff.

ENGLAND are confident that Andrew Flintoff will face Ireland in the Super Eight opener despite suffering from a stomach bug at training yesterday.

The Lancashire all-rounder was due to have an intensive practice session in Guyana with the rest of the squad in the build-up to Friday's opening match but Flintoff was forced to withdraw after batting in the nets.

After lying down in the shade for a short while he returned to the nearby hotel. Flintoff has already missed one match of the campaign after being dropped for their second qualifier against Canada for his role in the late night drinking episode.

England, who have no other injury problems, remain confident their talismanic all-rounder will be fit.
