Creative poetry prize.

BUDDING poets are being called on to get creative to win pounds 1,000.

Huddersfield people are being invited to write a poem about their town as part of a national competition.

The best poem will win pounds 1,000 and must be no more than 25 lines and 160 words each.

Writers can submit up to three entries in the contest - being run by United Press Ltd.

Previous winners have written verses about village life, rivers, buildings or local history.

To enter, send the poem to Local Poem, United Press Ltd, Admail 3735, London, EC1B 1JB before December 31.
