Creamline handily beats Air Force in PVL opener.

Defending champion Creamline needed just three sets to shoot down Philippine Air Force, 25-23, 25-20, 25-15, Sunday at the start of the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.

The Cool Smashers encountered a rough patch in the first set as the underrated Lady Jet Spikers kept the frame close mainly through lanky middle spiker Dell Palomata.

But as soon as Creamline got its groove, there was no stopping marquee stars Alyssa Valdez and Michele Gumabao from launching attacks en route to the lopsided match.

Gumabao scored 14 points, while Valdez added 13 for the Cool Smashers, who also got 10 points each from Jema Galanza and Risa Sato.
