Crawley Town striker Davide Rodari hit his first goal in professional goal as he scored late on in the Reds' 4-1 defeat to Bolton Wanderers earlier today.
The visitors secured promotion as they beat Crawley 4-1 at the People's Pension Stadium. The Reds collapsed to defeat after skipper George Francomb was sent off on the 30 minute mark for a second bookable offence.
However, there were some positives to take from the defeat as late on the Reds grabbed a consolation goal.
Substitute Rodari, who signed for Crawley in January from Hastings United, slotted past the Bolton keeper with a composed finish after Tyler Frost played the young striker through on goal.
Despite the poor showing, Rodari, who made his debut in Crawley's FA Cup Fourth Round defeat against Bournemouth, managed to net his first goal in professional football.
Last season Rodari caught the eye of the Crawley scouts after scoring eight goals in a Velocity Trophy win over East Grinstead.
Speaking after the arrival of Rodari, Crawley Town's technical director Erdem Konyar described the talented youngster as a "natural finisher".
"He has the potential to develop into a good pedigree striker," added Konyar, speaking on the clubs website shortly after Rodari's arrival.
"With hard work and dedication, we are confident he will establish himself within the squad in the near future."
Rodari signed on a two-and-a-half year deal in January and after netting his first goal in professional football is now set to become a key part of John Yems' squad as the Reds push for promotion next year.
