Byline: CONOR RIORDAN

A TEENAGER who died after being hit by a car had a "huge heart", his family said yesterday.

Mark Smith, from Torphins, Aberdeenshire, was walking along the A980 near Muir of Fowlis when the accident involving a Volkswagen Polo happened at about 10.15pm on Saturday.

In a statement released through police, the 18-year-old's family said: "Mark was a much-loved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, boyfriend and pal to so many.

"He had a huge heart, he was cheeky, funny and so loveable, which made Mark great to be around.

"As a family we would like to thank everyone for all their support and loving and kind words about Mark."
