Cracking the whip.

IT'S been dubbed Aprongate in Westminster. The attempt to nobble me as opening media team runner in last week's Parliamentary Pancake Race.

I was put off my stride when my apron strings were tampered with by Labour MP Ian Murray, the Shrove Tuesday equivalent of loosening a horse's saddle before the Grand National. Sky News political correspondent Sophy Ridge spied Lib Dem Baroness Susan Kramer yanking the apron away. And BBC TV footage of the event confirms the shenanigans. The MPs triumphed and we trailed last. Good thing it was all in aid of charity. We know MPs and peers are penny pinchers. But pinny pinching really is below the belt.
