Cracker pulled.

Shoppers who bought Christmas crackers from North East branches of Matalan are being warned to return them.

The crackers are being recalled after choking fears.

Matalan is asking customers to bring back boxes of The Home Store 12 Christmas Crackers which are priced at pounds 4.

The crackers have the line code M968658 and the recall applies to this line code only.

A statement from the company said: "This is a precautionary measure and the toys contained within the crackers could present a choking hazard.

"Customers who have bought these products should return them to their nearest Matalan store where a full refund will be given."
