Cowell: Isle take a mirror.

SIMON Cowell chose a mirror as his desert island luxury yesterday - so he could stare at himself.

He told Sue Lawley on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs: "It's because I'd miss me... I am on my own, no one around, I might as well have a mirror."

And he admitted he was "a horrible child... always doing things I shouldn't. I set the house on fire and held up a bus with a pea shooter.

"I was encouraged to leave two schools. I was suspended from another... I was spoiled by my dad."

The acid tongued Pop Idol judge chose classic crooners for seven of his eight records with only one modern song, Daniel Beding field's No1 hit If You're Not the One - "one of the most perfect pop songs of all time".
