Cowboy Bebop Getting the ol' Dreaded "American Remake".

Back in 1998, an anime entitled Cowboy Bebop came-out. It was a western set in space and based on the unpredictable rhythms of jazz, and it won both critical acclaim and popular success.

Check-out that epic intro:

Now the original studio behind the show, Sunset Inc., is serving as executive on a new live action remake, adapted by Tomorrow Studios. Chris Rost, the writer behind Thor: The Dark World , will be adapting the series.

"The animated version has long resonated with audiences worldwide," Marty Adelstein, from Tomorrow Studios, said . "With the continued, ever growing, popularity of anime, we believe a live action version will have an incredible impact today."

The original show followed a group of bounty hunters ("cowboys") led by Spike Spiegel, bounty hunters in a world where humans have fled an uninhabitable Earth. Their job? Capture peeps for profit and survive all the ugliness the galaxy throws in their direction. The show is widely seen as a pinnacle of anime.

A film version followed in 2001: Cowboy Bebop: The Movie capped-off the 26-episode show and received generally positive reviews.

Anyway, Twitter wasn't super happy with the announcement. More on that below:

If the live action Cowboy Bebop tv series does not employ Yoko Kano to do the music then what's even the point?
