Courtney Nivala; Oakmont Regional.

Nivala continued to be one of the most prolific scorers in Central Mass. and led the Spartans to a postseason berth. She was third among all CMass scorers, and tops in Mid-Wach B, with 137 points (88 goals, 49 assists), and set a school record with 11 points in a game. She netted seven goals in a win over Leominster in May and scored six in both victories over Marlboro. Against Hudson early in the season, Nivala maneuvered between two defenders and scored with seven seconds left to give Oakmont a 12-11 win. The Spartans finished 11-8, with seven of their losses coming by two goals or less. Nivala scored twice in a loss to Groton-Dunstable in the first round of the tournament. Nivala, who played three seasons of varsity soccer, was a three-year league all-star in lacrosse and the No. 2 scorer in Mid-Wach B this season. Although only a junior, Nivala already hopes to attend Southern New Hampshire University to play lacrosse. She is the daughter of Linda and Kevin Nivala of Westminster.
