Judge C. Brian McDonald

Aaron Harrison, 23, of Springfield, was sentenced to two concurrent terms of 10 years to 10 years and one day in Walpole State Prison being found guilty by a jury of two counts of firearms violation with two prior violent or drug crimes. He was sentenced to two concurrent terms of 10 years to 10 years and a day in Walpole State Prison after pleading guilty to two counts of being a habitual criminal. He was sentenced to a concurrent term of one year in the House of Correction after being found guilty by a jury of defacing the serial number on a firearm. He was placed on two concurrent terms of three years probation, to begin upon his release, after being found guilty by a jury of resisting arrest and carrying a firearm with ammunition. As conditions of probation, he was ordered to undergo drug and alcohol evaluations with any related treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department.

Judge John S. McCann

Hoang Nguyen, 26, with a last known address of 11 Channing St., Worcester, was sentenced to three concurrent terms of two years in the House of Correction after pleading guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm without a Firearm Identification Card and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. The balance of the sentence was suspended for five years with probation. He was sentenced to two concurrent terms of one year in the House of Correction after pleading guilty to two counts of improperly storing a firearm. The balance of the sentence was suspended for five years with probation. As conditions of probation, he was ordered to undergo a substance abuse evaluation, with any related treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department, and not to possess weapons. Charges of possession of a sawed-off shotgun and drug violation near a school or park were dismissed.
