Courion Brings Unprecedented Ease of Implementation to Account Provisioning.
FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 18, 2002
New Release of AccountCourier Enables Enterprises To Quickly, Securely
and Cost-Effectively Grant and Revoke User Access to IT Resources
Courion(R) Corporation, the leading provider of identity lifecycle management solutions, today introduced AccountCourier(TM) 2.0, the next version of Courion's automated account provisioning and user ID management solution. AccountCourier securely automates and streamlines the loosely defined business, security and operational procedures that many enterprises use on a daily basis to grant and revoke user access rights to critical IT resources.
AccountCourier's workflow technology and policy engine enable accounts to be automatically provisioned without human intervention on each native system for increased data security, reduced costs, faster service and constant application availability. Enhancements in the new release bolster AccountCourier's position as the first automated provisioning solution that can be quickly, widely and cost-effectively deployed.
"With the number of users and IT resources constantly increasing, the need for effective user management solutions has never been greater," said Chris King, program director for META Group. "Companies are looking for provisioning solutions that can be quickly deployed, automate their existing security and business policies and securely delegate provisioning across administrators and end users."
AccountCourier 2.0, built upon Courion's secure workflow automation platform that is already provisioning passwords at over 100 enterprises, offers the following functional enhancements:
-- User Modeling(TM) - enables new user accounts to be provisioned by cloning the access rights of existing users, resources, roles or templates. Companies can model users to quickly realize the benefits of automated provisioning, then migrate to role-based provisioning once roles are defined.
-- Adaptive Workflows(TM) - transforms business intelligence and security procedures into automated policies that empower security staff, delegated administrators and line of business managers to initiate and execute provisioning actions.
-- Dynamic Communities(TM) - defines personalized lists of users, resources and roles that can be provisioned by connecting in real time to multiple existing identity stores (e.g. PeopleSoft, Microsoft Active Directory, Oracle), eliminating the need to synchronize or centralize user data.
-- Extended platform coverage - adds provisioning connectors for Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, HP-UX, Sun Solaris, OS/390 ACF2, RSA ClearTrust(R), Netegrity SiteMinder(R) and Oblix NetPoint.
-- Rapid Development Kit (RDK) - enables Courion Professional Services, Courion Solution Partners and corporate IT staffs to quickly develop and customize provisioning connectors for any third party system, custom application or Web portal using agentless and agent-based technologies such as Java, XML, Perl and C++.
-- HR connectivity - accepts feeds from external data sources such as HR databases to automatically populate user profiles and generate user IDs.
-- Auto-discovery and Mapping Rules - tracks all access changes that occur outside of AccountCourier, associates user IDs with existing users and identifies orphaned accounts.
-- Policy Publisher(TM) - reflects changes in business or security policies by dynamically generating easy-to-use Web pages that offer business users and delegated administrators 24x7x365 access to provisioning workflows.
-- Service desk integration - records all provisioning activities (e.g. date/time stamp, requestor name, users to be provisioned, systems impacted, etc.) within service management applications such as Remedy ARS and Peregrine ServiceCenter for accurate auditing and built-in problem escalation.
-- PasswordCourier(R) integration - leverages industry's leading self-service password reset and synchronization solution for integrated provisioning and password management. PasswordCourier consistently enforces corporate password policies on any user IDs provisioned with AccountCourier.
"Courion has demonstrated the ability to deliver fast, measurable ROI to customers of all sizes and industries with our identity lifecycle management solutions," said Chris Zannetos, CEO of Courion. "AccountCourier 2.0 will enable us to continue helping customers align their security needs with the business imperatives of controlling costs and maximizing productivity. By offering the first user provisioning solution that can be quickly and widely deployed without extensive business impact, Courion is delivering on what so far has only been promised."
