Couple in tug-of-love over baby for sale.

NEW YORK: A couple who helped police to catch a lawyer who tried to sell them a Hungarian-born baby for $60,000 (about pounds 37,500) last March will try this week to adopt the little girl.

But Lauren and Bill Schneider face legal challenges from the one-year- old child's American foster family, who also wish to adopt the child, and from the Hungarian consul in New York, who argues that the girl should be returned to Hungary and offered for adoption there.
