Couple admit abducting baby boy.

A MARRIED couple arrested in North Wales have admitted abducting a baby boy who was found abandoned at a cathedral in Ireland in January.

The baby, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was taken from the home of his legal guardian in the Ashfield area of Nottinghamshire on January 22, when he was eight months old.

He was found abandoned next day near a cathedral in Carlow in the Irish Republic: a note with his name and date of birth was pinned to his buggy.

The baby was later reunited with his legal guardian.

Husband and wife Andrew and Georgina Warriner, 24 and 21, from Kirkby-in- Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, were arrested in Betws y Coed.

Yesterday they pleaded guilty at Nottingham Crown Court to taking a child out of the UK without consent. They were remanded in custody to be sentenced on May 10.
