Couple's unlucky strike 2.

UNLUCKY Karl Kay and Susan Womphrey proved lightning does strike twice when their cottage was hit in a storm.

It was the second time in three years that their home had been wrecked by a bolt of lightning.

Karl, 40, and Susan, 35, were cooking dinner when the roof of their pretty cottage in Welton, Lincs, was blown off.

They had moved to the village from Cleethorpes where their last house was blitzed in a storm.

Council officer Karl said yesterday: "Out of a village of 3,000 people, if someone was going to get hit by lightning then it was bound to be us."

It will take months to rebuild their home.

Bookies Ladbrokes said: "We have never taken a bet on lightning striking twice but we could give you 10 million to one."
