Country Singer Luke Bryan Gifted His Wife Kangaroos For Christmas.

Country singer Luke Bryan caused quite a stir when he gifted his wife two baby kangaroos for Christmas. Bryan, who will join Katy Perry and Lionel Richie as judges on the new season of the singing talent show "American Idol," posted a video Wednesday on Instagram. The video showed him gifting the animals to his wife, Caroline Boyer.

The video footage also shows the surprised reaction of Boyer when she received the gift from her husband. "I got you two designer purses," Bryan joked as he carried the kangaroos to his blindfolded wife.

"Oh my God! Where did you get these?" she asked.

Bryan later posted pictures of the joeys, named Margo and Todd, wearing nappies and sitting inside.

Bryan and Boyer knew each other since the time they attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. They first met at a local bar called Dingus Magee's in the fall of 1998, according to an article in (https://countryfancast.com/luke-bryans-wife-caroline-boyer/) Countryfancast.com . The article stated that Bryan was smitten with Boyer at first sight. "It was love at first sight with Caroline 6 those blue eyes of hers. I knew that, no matter what, I was going to make my way over to her," Bryan said.

After years of on and off dating, the couple decided to tie the knot in December 2006 and have been happily married ever since, despite Bryan's intense tour schedules. Boyer also starred in Bran's music video "Crash My Party".

The couple has two sons - Thomas Boyer Bryan and Tatum Christopher Bryan. They were also raising Bryan's sisters' kids - Tilden, Kris, and Jordan, after the death of their parents. Boyer's brother Bo and his wife Ellen, in February, lost their seven-month-old daughter, Sadie Brett (known as Brett), which prompted the couple to start "Brett's Barn" as a tribute to the youngster, with the aim of helping abandoned animals find homes. The kangaroos that Bryan gifted to his loving wife will reportedly be the latest addition to the family's rescue barn.

Bryan had a tragic past too. He lost his brother, Chris, in a car accident more than 20 years ago and his sister Kelly in 2007 due to unknown reasons. Even though Bryan bought the gift for his wife in good spirits, the internet was divided about the action. While some appreciated Bryan for a heartfelt gift, others were not too happy with his choice and argued that kangaroos are wild animals and not pets.

"Kangaroos are endangered and belong in the wild," marlenerose1829 wrote on Instagram.

In reply, klynnr824 wrote, "You don't even know where the kangaroos even came from. They could have been abandoned, sick, and unable to live in the wild for some reason. I know some of the other animals at Brett's Barn were rescued. You just automatically assume the worst."

"If they were abandoned or sick, they should have gone to an organization that knows how to deal with them," marlenerose1829 wrote back, Australian website (http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/celebrity-life/american-idol-judge-luke-bryans-kangaroo-gift-for-wife-caroline-boyer-causes-controversy/news-story/c671e703ce317af155d6cccd26d34698) News.com.au reported.  Bryan is yet to comment on the issue.
