Country's success depends on rich.

ROSEMARY ROBSON always seems to base her politics on the denigration of anyone who has accumulated wealth.

But rich people have risked all and worked damned hard in their life. Unlike many layabouts who squeal to tax the rich in order for the state to help them and their offspring from the cradle to the grave.

Such class-ridden comments sum up why we cannot allow people like Nicola Sturgeon to have any influence in our next government. History teaches us that countries survive or sink not on handouts but on the hard work and sacrifices of people who create wealth.

It may be unpalatable to the envious brigade but these are the facts of life.DAVID JOHNSTON, Bensham, Gateshead
