Countdown to the UK's biggest festive fun run; ADVERTISING FEATURE THE RADIO CITY LIVERPOOL SANTA DASH IS BACK AND IT'S HOPING TO RAISE MORE CASH THAN EVER.
IT'S almost time to put on your Santa suit, pull on those trainers and dash around Liverpool for one of the city's most fun annual events.
The Radio City Liverpool Santa Dash is fast approaching with less than three weeks to go until the festive extravaganza - so don't miss out!
This year's event is on Sunday, 4 December - and it is the UK's biggest festive 5K fun run.
This is the 13th annual Liverpool Santa Dash. So far over 4,000 Santas have registered to take part, and organisers BTR Liverpool want to make it the biggest and best yet.
Highly regarded as Liverpool's kickstart to Christmas, the Radio City Liverpool Santa Dash in association with Blue Air is open to everyone and is accessible to all.
There will be famous faces starting the Santa Dash as well as taking part, including Benidorm and Brookside actor Philip Olivier; original Big Brother winner Craig Phillips - with big names to be announced next week.
Each year, the Santa Dash attracts individuals; families; charity runners; and corporate organisations. Wheelchair participants and prams are welcome - and even unicyclists have been spotted along the route adding to the fun.
The largest groups to register so far are Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service who have taken part each year since 2008 and this year have 60 Santas taking part; with 51 from the 5 Borough Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in Warrington; children's charity KIND have a group of 40; with 31 representing the Autism Initiatives.
The Liverpool Santa Dash was created in 2004 by Alan Rothwell, from leading independent race organisation BTR Liverpool. Three years later, BTR introduced the 1K Mini Dash for youngsters, followed by the addition of blue Santa suits in 2010.
BTR Race Director Alan Rothwell commented: "Now is the perfect time to round up your friends or work colleagues and sign up for the Radio City Liverpool Santa Dash.
"It really is a day you'll never forget with the city bursting with Christmas cheer when it is transformed into a sea of red, blue and mini Santas - snow is even guaranteed!" Liverpool's Santas are invited to dash and raise cash by supporting the event's three official charities - the BTR Footsteps Fundraisers charity partners are Radio City's Cash For Kids, Everton in the Community, and Zoe's Place Baby Hospice.
Funds raised by Santas taking part will be split equally between the three charities. Santas can set up their own online fundraising page through the Everyday Hero website - at https://www.everydayhero.co.uk/event/BTRSANTADASH Sign up and collect your Santa suit from Rapid Discount Outlet in Liverpool city centre or the BTR office at 82 Market Street, Hoylake.
