Countdown to space conference.

SPACE will be in the spotlight when a top international scientific conference comes to Liverpool in 2007.

More than 200 delegates will meet at the Crowne Plaza hotel and have a celebration dinner at St George's Hall in September 2007.

It will be the first time the European Space Tribology Laboratory has hosted the three-day European Space Mechanisms and Tribology Symposium in the UK in its 22-year history and it is expected to make pounds 250,000 for the local economy.

ESTL is part of Warrington-based engineering, safety and risk business ESR Technology, which won the bid for the prestigious event with the help of the Mersey Partnership Conference Bureau.
