It will be the first time the European Space Tribology Laboratory has hosted the three-day European Space Mechanisms and Tribology Symposium in the UK in its 22-year history and it is expected to make pounds 250,000 for the local economy.
ESTL is part of Warrington-based engineering, safety and risk business ESR Technology, which won the bid for the prestigious event with the help of the Mersey Partnership Conference Bureau.
