Cosmo Franciose, 88.

BARRE Cosmo Franciose from Barre, MA passed away peacefully on April 11th at his daughter's home in McLean, VA, surrounded by his wife and family. Born Nov 4, 1920 to Antonio and Rosalia (Iannetta) Franciose. Husband of 62 years to his beloved wife Lucy (Gulino) Franciose. Loving father to Randall and Nancy Franciose, (VA), Deborah and Jonathan VanDeVusse (VA), Kathleen and Mark Green (NC), Jayne and Ken Scott (CT), Anthony and Lori Franciose (MA); and predeceased daughter Brenda Rose. His grandchildren include Nicholas, Natalie, Zachary (Franciose); Michael Paul (VanDeVusse); Meghan, Kristin, Kathryn (Green); David, Julia (Scott); Matthew, Justin (Franciose). He also leaves his loving sister, Santina Olivo (RI), sister-in-law Virginia Unitis (MA) and numerous extended family members and his friends in Barre.

Cosmo was a WWII Navy veteran serving in the Pacific Campaign. After the war, he worked as a homebuilder, a construction foreman and a job superintendent with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a member of the American Legion Post 404. Cosmo was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who was zealously devoted to his family. He was an avid reader, an accomplished craftsman and a Yankee fan. He was the consummate self made man. He will be deeply missed by the many people who knew and loved him.

Calling hours are Friday April 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Pillsbury Funeral Home, 96 S. Barre Rd., Barre. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at St Thomas-A-Becket Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St Joseph's Cemetery.
