A BRAND new beauty treatment has arrived on Teesside -but there's a catch.

Cosmedics Skin Clinic is offering "revolutionary" beauty treatments, but you must hook up to an intravenous drip at their clinic in Middlesbrough.

IV therapy claims it targets a variety of needs through a targeted vitamin boost.

The treatment already has massive popularity across the globe, with stars such as Kim Kardashian, Kate Moss and Rihanna among its fans.

Dr Wasif Razzaq, who opened the Gresham Road clinic around eight weeks ago, claims the treatment can also help people recover from illness or tiredness, restoring vitamin and nutrient levels while overall cosmetic appearance is given a refresh.

"Research shows that 90% of people are nutrient deficient, and 50% of those people are already taking a multivitamin." Dr Razzaq said.

"That is the reason for us deciding to venture as IV vitamin drips are a revolution in vitamin supplements which were first invented in 1960s and have since taken the world by storm."

There are nine different types of IV drips, which clients can choose from; Wellness Protcol, Mood Support, Athlete Sport, Booster Shot Glutathione, Energizer, Age Defiance, Detox Fat Burning, Immuno Booster and Hair Tonic.

Dr Razzaq said: "We would suggest patients start with the wellness cocktail as this contains the right mix of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants for an overall feeling of wellness and health promotion."

It is claimed the drip combats and treat the effects of factors such as dehydration, strenuous physical activity, ageing and fatigue.

Each drip can take between 45 minutes and 90 minutes to administer and start from PS175 per shot.

After a consultation with a doctor, those hoping to indulge in some recovery time are fitted with a cannula and attached to a drip bag containing the chosen formula.

"Only after a full assessment, do we decide which type of drip will be suitable for each client," Dr Razzaq said.

"Our goal is to provide varying nutrients directly into your bloodstream for maximum cell absorption. This will immediately refuel your cells, restore balance & overall well-being both physically and mentally.

"We are hoping to help those who live a fast-paced lifestyle by offering them a quick pick-me-up, without having to wait for results."
