Corus can clean-up with wash down.

A piece of kit capable of lifting vehicles weighing up to 54 tonnes has been installed at a Teesside business at a cost of pounds 200,000.

Corus Northern Engineering Services has invested in a new vehicles wash down facility at Lackenby.

It will deal with Corus' 150-strong fleet of vehicles on Teesside and the hydraulic system is capable of lifting vehicles from small cars to 80ft lorries and trailers.

The company said the investment was expected to pay for itself within the next few years as it offers the unit's services to outside organisations.

Unit manager Phil Cheeseman said: "As well as providing our own fleet with first class wash down and pre-MOT inspection facilities, we are also anticipating a significant demand for this service from other Corus business units, as well as local haulage and owners of heavy goods vehicles in the region, as this is currently the only wash down facility of its type in the North East of England."
