CORONATION Street star Katie McGlynn has denied falling out with Love Island finalist Maura Higgins.

The Corrie favourite has snapped back on Twitter following talk that she appeared to be arguing with the reality star at the TV Choice Awards, saying 'she's a lovely girl.' The Rochdale actress denied rumours of a feud and added that the pair, who were pictured leaving the awards together hand-in-hand, became friends after hitting it off at the event.

"It was a pleasure meeting @MauraHiggins last night, she's a lovely girl!" she said.

"We had a great night. Must remember to be less animated when talking to new friends haha."

Katie, 26, wowed at the awards in a split-to-the-thigh blue dress the day after filming her final scenes on Corrie as Sinead Tinker.

New mum Sinead will tragically lose her fight with cervical cancer after finding a lump in her neck on her wedding day with Daniel Osbourne.

In heartbreaking scenes, which the soap has worked on with the charities Mummy's Star and Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust, the popular machinist will be told that her cancer has returned and she only has months to live.

Katie attended the event with costar Lucy Fallon, 23, who is also leaving the soap as Bethany Platt at the end of her contract next year.

Katie shared snaps of herself at the awards with Lucy.

She captioned one photo of the pair smiling as 'sweet' and another of the two playfully sticking their tongues out as 'spice.'.
