Corporate Foundation Profiles, 7th ed.

The seventh edition of Corporate Foundation Profiles provides grantseekers with the most current, indepth reports on 247 of the largest corporate grantmakers in the United States.

Since the last edition of this directory was published, annual contributions from company-sponsored foundations included in this volume have risen to well over $1.4 billion, a figure representing nearly 20 percent of all foundation grants. These corporate dollars represent an increasingly important source of support as non-profit organizations search for new sources of funding to replace disappearing government grants. To help non-profits achieve their funding goals, Corporate Foundation Profiles offers extensive financial data and vital details on each foundation's giving priorities, the inside information grantseekers need as they research potential grant sources.

The first of three sections included in each corporate foundation profile, the Foundation Portrait provides the essential facts fundraisers need when writing a proposal, such as the grantmaker's name, address, and contact person, purpose and giving limitations statements, and application guidelines. This section also includes an analysis of the sponsoring company, a complete review of the foundation's program interests, and a list of key officials.

The Grants Analysis section offers a detailed breakdown of the foundation's grant program. A series of tables document funding patterns by subject areas, the type of organization receiving funds, the type of support building funds, matching gifts, etc.), population group, and geographic areas preferred. Each of these tables is followed by further grants analysis, which provides information on the top three award categories and the non-profit organizations that have received the most combined grant dollars within various subsets of the foundation's grantmaking program.

The last of the three sections of each profile, a list of recently awarded grants, gives descriptions of actual grants recently awarded by the foundation. This section supplements the analysis of the foundation's grantmaking program by showing which organizations have actually received funding from the corporate foundation. Divided into subject headings for quick reference, each grant listed includes data such as the recipient's name and address, the grant amount, its duration, and a concise description of its intended use.
