Corovin forms joint spunbonding venture in Germany.

Another of the top roll goods companies in the world, Corovin GmbH, Peine, Germany, ranked 27th in the NONWOVENS INDUSTRY annual survey last September, recently announced a joint venture with Gizeh GmbH, Berlin, Germany. The venture, formed late last December, will be known as Gizeh Spuntec Vliesstoffwerk GmbH. The new company was created as a result of parent company Gizeh spinning off its spunbonded division; Corovin holds a 30% interest in the new company.

Under terms of the agreement, the companies will exchange technology and know-how; current nonwovens technology at Gizeh Spuntec has already been modified. Corovin will also introduce its latest technologies into the company.

With manufacturing in Berlin, the company's present capacity is approximately 3000 tons a year on two spunbonded lines. Markets include textile and hygiene fields as well as some technical applications. Ehrenfried Gruber, former manager of nonwoven activities at Gizeh has taken over the management of Spuntec.
