Cornwall; transport and industrial heritage.

Cornwall; transport and industrial heritage.

Vaughan, John.

Ian Allan Publishing

192 pages

Vaughan, who is not further identified, looks at transport as one dimension of industrialization in the peninsula on the southwest coast of Britain. He considers such industries as mining and quarries, windmills and water wheels, brickworks and china clay, agriculture and flowers, brewing, and fishing. The transport modes are canals, shipping roads, railways, and aircraft. Brief mention is occasionally made of pre-industrial times, mostly to provide a contrast. Color and monochrome photographs are included. Sites are indexed. Distributed in North America by Casemate.
