Cornhusker NAMA starts 2013 with a Bang.

Two great programs have set the stage for a great year for Cornhusker NAMA.

On January 22, members gathered at Farm Credit Services in Omaha, Neb. Two goal-oriented, young farmers, Michael Snitily and Matt Rezac, shared issues and challenges they face.

Both farmers' roots started in livestock operations. Snitily stated, "The values and work ethics I gained from a livestock operation are irreplaceable."

Both farmers loved their time spent in livestock. Now that they are on their own, both have decided to grow row crops due largely to high grain prices and the 24/7 demand of livestock.

In February, Cornhusker NAMA presented "Dealing with Social Media, Blogging and SEO" at the Nebraska Farm Bureau.

Four experts including Corrie Oberdin from IriDiAN Group (social media), Karissa Tomsen from Intertwine Interactive (SEO), Adrian Blake (blogging) and Kelly Cox from Valmont Industries (ag social media and marketing) delivered powerful messages on these topics. Each panelist talked about how they have observed many companies simply jumping into social media and blogging without a plan and offered practical strategies to developing a plan.
