Corcoran makes a 'smart' move.
The Corcoran Group plans to move its West Side office from its current location at 2112 Broadway to a new state-of-the-art facility at 888 Seventh Avenue at 56th Street dubbed one of New York's "smartest" buildings. In addition to the West Side agents and staff, the 19,000 s/f luxury office located on the 39th floor will house Corcoran Group Marketing, the firm's new development sales and marketing division.
"As real estate on the Upper West Side continues to thrive with two bedroom apartments averaging close to one million dollars, I felt strongly that our new West Side location bridge the traditional Upper West Side with the exciting new development activity planned between West 72nd Street and West 42nd Street," says Corcoran chief executive Pamela Liebman.
One of New York's most revered office towers, 888 Seventh Avenue is home to several of the world's largest corporations including Vornado Realty, the building's manager.
Breathtaking views of Central Park and tremendous technological capabilities are what made the 45-story tower, which Wired Magazine calls one of New York's smartest buildings, so appealing to Corcoran, whose own commitment to technology helped revolutionize the home buying market.
Corcoran, which expects to grow its West Side sales force by 25 percent, plans to move into 888 Seventh Avenue in May 2005 after a four month build out by the architects A/R Environetics, who recently completed renovating Corcoran's East Side executive offices.
Corcoran Group Marketing, which provides consulting, marketing, sales, and leasing services to New York's residential real estate development community, will also move to 888 Seventh Avenue.
Corcoran Group Senior Vice President Neal Sroka and Vornado's Glenn Weiss brokered the deal.
