Corbyn gives job to new Halifax MP.

HALIFAX MP Holly Lynch, pictured, has been appointed to Jeremy Corbyn's frontbench.

Ms Lynch, 29, who won the seat for Labour last May after Linda Riordan stood down, will serve as a whip on the shadow frontbench.

Despite being just four months into her first-ever term, she is the only Kirklees or Calderdale MP appointed to Labour's front bench.

Former Colne Valley parliamentary candidate, Debbie Abrahams, now MP for Oldham East and Saddleworth, has been appointed as a shadow minister in the Work and Pensions team.

Ms Lynch is now an opposition whip in the House of Commons and will work to organise party business and voting.
