Cops probe field body.

POLICE have launched an investigation after a middle aged man was found dead in a field.

West Mercia Police were called to the site in Market Drayton, Shropshire, on Thursday after a call from a member of the public.

The cause of the man's death, which is being treated as unexplained, is still unknown.

Details of a post-mortem examination have not yet been released.

Identified The man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has not been formally identi-fied.

Police said they were waiting for more test results from a post-mortem examination that took place on Friday.

Det Insp Andy Parsons said: "We are still trying to establish the cause of this man's death and piece together his last movements.

"It is vital we talk to anyone who was in the area between about 7pm on Wednesday and around 1pm on Thursday.

"The man who died is understood to have been wearing a bandana before he was found, which would have made him noticeable."
