Cops aren't kitten with this appeal.

Byline: JILLY BEATTIE

NO kitten but police in Newry and Mourne have a new staff member.

It's a little grey cat which they say had been thrown into a field by callous thugs.

Officers from Newtownhamilton, Co Armagh, rescued the cat from a field in the Clontigora area and now they want to find its owner.

A PSNI spokesman posted the image of the cat on Facebook and said: "Meet our new station cat who, like us all, is tired of paperwork.

"Our latest addition was thrown in a field by party goers and recovered by Newtownhamilton officers in the Clontigora road area. Is he yours or do you know who owns him?

Contact Police at Newtownhamilton on 101."
