Cop beats up woman auto driver.

A TRAFFIC sub- inspector posted on the premises of the New Delhi railway station beat up a woman auto- rickshaw driver on Friday night.

Though the victim Sunita Chaudhary's medical report confirmed her injuries, the police in a denial mode are yet to register a case against Mohammed Hanif, the errant policeman.

At 10.30 pm, Sunita -- the city's first woman autorickshaw driver -- was leaving the station premises when a passenger signalled her to stop. As soon as she had braked, Hanif allegedly caught her by the neck and started slapping her. " I told him I was a girl but he would not stop and beat me up," Sunita claimed.

The moment Hanif realised he hit a woman, he threatened Sunita and asked her to leave the place. " I didn't break traffic rules but he hit me. After I informed the police control room, I was taken for medical examination," she said.
