Coors touts contribution to Tennessee economy.

Coors Brewing Co. along with 11 independent distributors of Coors products in Tennessee, pumped more than $51.3 million into the state's economy in 1992, according to a recently released study.

This economic impact results from taxes, capital spending, company purchases, donations, payroll and employee benefits.

The contribution to Tennessee's economy by Coors and its distributors in 1992 included the following: 736 jobs with an annual payroll of $24.9 million; $6.4 million of payroll and property taxes; more than $13.1 million in purchased goods and services from Tennessee companies; more than $800,000 in capital spending; and more than $325,000 in contributions to charitable causes.

The Tennessee economic impact study estimates that two additional jobs are created for each Coors employee in the state.
