Cooper has keeper in mind; Football.

DARLINGTON are likely to sign a new goalkeeper before the end of the week - and manager Mark Cooper has a player in mind.

The club needs cover for Sam Russell, as the ex-Boro man is the only senior keeper on the books.

Cooper has been looking at goalkeepers, and is understood to be ready to offer a deal.

There has not been a keeper on the bench for the last couple of games, and the manager knows that he is pushing his luck if that continues, though Russell is one of the most reliable in the division.

Scott Pocklington, who was at the club on trial, and on the bench earlier in the season, has moved on.

Tickets for Darlington's first North-East derby of the season went on sale today.

Quakers go to Bootham Crescent to take on York City next Tuesday. Tickets are available in advance, from the Arena main reception.

Standing tickets are priced pounds 15 adults, pounds 10 Over-65s and pounds 10 Under-16s, and seated tickets priced pounds 16 adults, pounds 11 O-65s and pounds 11 U-16s.

Fans can buy them from the ticket office at Saturday's home game with Hayes and Yeading up to 2pm then after the match.

Quakers seek to get back on track on Saturday after losing their last two games.
