Convincing win for Blackwood.
BLACKWOOD'S experienced and powerful pack dominated this First Division game. They controlled most of the play and enabled the Gwent visitors to establish a 22-6 interval advantage.
The elements also played their part in this battle as strong winds swept across the Oval.
Treorchy gave away far too many technical penalties and before the interval all they could manage were two Richard Langmead penalties.
For the visitors Dean Brown and Darren Starr got tries.
In the second half the Rhondda side made valiant attempts to get back into the game and Carl Rees's converted try put them close.
Blackwood's Jones fired over five penalties which in the end proved vital and meant that the visitors could hold on for a deserved triumph.
