Conveyance allowance approved for govt employees.

QUETTA -- Government of Balochistan has extended the facility of conveyance allowance to all the provincial government employees in the province w.e.f., July 1, 2012, it was officially learnt here on Tuesday.

A notification has also been issued in this regard by the concerned Finance Department here on Tuesday.

As per the notification, the provincial government employees serving in the BS-1 to 10 would get Rs. 1150 per month on the account of conveyance allowance in addition to the monthly salaries while the employees serving in BS-11 to 15 would receive Rs. 1700 per month. Similarly, the employees serving in the BS-16 and above would get Rs. 2480 per month on account of the conveyance allowance, in addition to their monthly salaries.

Meanwhile, the Government Teachers Association Balochistan (GTAB) has hailed the initiative of the provincial government regarding the conveyance allowance for the employees thanking the parliamentary committee, Chief Secretary, Secretary Finance and all other concerned in this regard.

A spokesman of the GTAB claimed that the decision of giving conveyance allowance to the employees was one of their demands and thus the provincial government has issued the notification in light of their demands.

He also mentioned that the charter of demands had been presented to the provincial government on October 4, 2011, on which a high powered committee comprising the provincial ministers was constituted to look in to the demands of the GTAB, and thus now the government recognized them and has issued the notification regarding conveyance allowance. Prior to that, the provincial government had issued notification regarding up-gradation of the post of Secondary School Teacher (SST) in the province the other day.The head of the Provincial parliamentary committee and Provincial Minister for Irrigation, Sardar Aslam Bizenjo had also addressed a press conference the other day, in which he had mentioned that all the genuine demands of the government teachers have been accepted now.
