Convention lacks Force for film fans.

Byline: STEPHEN WHITE

FILM lovers are demanding a refund from a Star Wars event, likening attractions to "scaffolding and nets".

Carl Davies, who paid [euro]40 to visit the For the Love of the Force convention, said: "I found displays shocking."

He added on Facebook: "The Ewok Village was some scaffolding covered in nets adorned with skewered teddy bears."

Complaints were allegedly deleted from the independent event's Facebook page. Organisers said they removed posts that "evolved into slanderous abuse".

Co-founder Andrew Kleek said they had thousands of messages from happy guests. A statement added they had 20 official complaints out of 20,000 people visiting Bowlers Exhibition Centre at Trafford Park, Manchester, earlier this month, but will call all unsatisfied guests.
