Control software displays your entire plant.

Three new software products to help manage polyurethane processing operations are available from Linden Industries, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. They evolved from Linden's MicroProcessVu software, which monitors variables on a processing line and provides data-analysis tools to support Six Sigma, QS 9000, or ISO 9000 programs.

* New PlantProcessVu provides the tools to capture and analyze data from all manufacturing processes throughout the plant. Data are organized to alert users to process variances before production is affected. Shown here is a display of a plant with (clockwise from upper right) injection molding, PUR molding, bulk chemical storage, and shipping/receiving. Operators can zoom in on any piece of equipment.

* GlobalProcessVu captures similar data from multiple plants and enables data analysis at any level of the production processes.

* New remote monitoring capability helps cope with leaner engineering and maintenance staffs. The controller automatically sends wireless notification of process variances and alarms to maintenance personnel and process engineers via pager or PDA. Spotlighting the exact nature of the problem helps troubleshooters gather the necessary manuals, tools, and parts on their way to the line.

Faster response is also facilitated by the latest version of MicroProcessVu. It incorporates a new knowledge base that records prior responses to equipment and processing problems, and an on-line image library of equipment components to quickly identify a defective part and its part number.
