Contemporary Christian Music Artists Edit August Issue of CCM Magazine.

NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 17 /PRNewswire/ --

CCM Magazine, contemporary Christian music's leading monthly magazine, turned over editorial control to some top artists for the August issue, on stands next week.

Christian rock artists Rebecca St. James and Mac Powell (Third Day) were the official guest editors for the August issue, while several other artists- including Steven Curtis Chapman, Kirk Franklin and Bill & Gloria Gaither-made writing contributions to the publication. Powell and St. James helped the CCM Magazine staff develop the editorial content, including the cover story, "Is Christian Music Making a Difference?"

The August issue of CCM Magazine also includes comedian Mark Lowry interviewing himself and a feature on general market punk rock sensation MxPx, contributed by Switchfoot member Tim Foreman. The tongue-in-cheek "If I Were Editor for a Day" column features comments from Charlie Lowell (Jars of Clay), Phil Joel (Newsboys), Jennifer Knapp and others. New artists Kendall Payne, Earthsuit and Mary Mary are among the highlighted features in the issue, and six artists contributed reviews of their current favorite albums to the issue.
