SCOPE :

The City of Rockville requires the services of a qualified firm specializing in historic preservation to prepare a new Historic Resources Management Plan (HRMP or Management Plan), updating that which was adopted in 1986. The new Historic Resources Management Plan should contain: *historic contexts, themes and building types in Rockville *a compendium of existing designated resources and relevant data *define new contexts, specifically for 1931-1945 and 1945-1995 periods *identify potential new and/or expanded districts for local designation *identify needs for new or updated design guidelines *strategies for infill and non-contributing structures within historic districts *strategies for commercial resources, *a general overview of potentially significant archeological resources, if any, and a suggested scope for future study; and *a recommended Action Plan for a 10-year period etc.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION :

The City of Rockville requires the services of a qualified firm specializing in historic preservation to draft a new Historic Resources Management Plan (HRMP or Management Plan), updating the current plan which was adopted in 1986. It is a functional plan that directs implementation of the Citys Historic Preservation program and the Comprehensive Master Plan. The current HRMP established contexts, themes and building types for Rockville, and detailed implementation steps for each Planning Area. The new document should utilize the relevant parts of the existing document and revise them, as needed. In addition, the new HRMP should contain: *a compendium of existing designated resources and relevant data *define new contexts, specifically for 1931-1945 and 1945-1995 periods *identify potential new and/or expanded districts for local designation *identify needs for new or updated design guidelines *strategies for infill and non-contributing structures within historic districts *strategies for commercial resources, and *a recommended program for a 10-year period. In addition to the above, the selected proposer shall have the ability to perform an analysis of the building types of Rockville, in order to update, clarify and expand the historic contexts as well as prepare Maryland Inventory of Historic Properties forms for potential districts and landmarks recommended for designation. etc.

A Pre-proposal Meeting Is Scheduled For Tuesday, April 26, 2016 At 10 :00 A.m. At Rockville City Hall In The Mayor & Council Chambers, Located On The 3rd Floor Of City Hall At 111 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland.
