Constance B. (St. Germain) Sutherland.

NORTH SMITHFIELD Constance B. (St. Germain) Sutherland of North Smithfield, died Saturday, January 27, 2007 on her eighty-first birthday in St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Raymond L. Sutherland. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Aurore (Lapierre) St. Germain, and had been a resident of North Smithfield since 1962.

She worked as a Teacher's Assistant for the Northern RI Collaborative for many years retiring in 1991. She was a Communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in North Smithfield, and a member of the North Smithfield Senior Citizen's Club. Mr. and Mrs. Sutherland had been active in the Christian Family Movement of RI and the Cursillo Movement. She was a longtime volunteer at St. Antoine Residence.

She is survived by three sons, Stephen Sutherland MD and his wife, Linda of Marion, OH, William Sutherland and his wife, Karen of Holden, MA and John Sutherland and his wife, Susan of North Smithfield, RI; two daughters, Ann Sutherland Auclair and her husband, Raymond of Narragansett, RI, and Nancy Sutherland of Cumberland, RI; two sisters, Lucille LaForest and Rita Branchaud of North Smithfield, RI; nine grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 9 AM from The Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church Street, Slatersville. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Antoine Residence, 10 Rhodes Avenue, North Smithfield, RI 02896.
