Connor shines in contest.

THREE joinery students from Kirklees College got to showcase their skills at a competition this week.

Dominik Ziomek and Nicholas Booth, both fulltime level 2 bench joinery students at Dewsbury Construction Academy and Connor Russcoe, a full-time level 1 carpentry and joinery student at the Brunel Centre, Hudders-field, travelled to Burnley College for Skill Build 2014, run by the Construction Industry Training Board.

Dominik and Nicholas came away empty-handed but Connor did well, coming second in his competition.

His achievement was all the more notable as he is a full-time student and managed to beat apprentices from other colleges, who are already working in the industry.
