The Connecticut Rubber Group will hold its 12th Annual Symposium on Mixing and Processing of Polymeric Compounds March 27-29 at The Courtyard by Marriott, Buckingham Square, Waterbury, CT. Technical presentations on Tuesday, March 27, will include: "Machinery for mixing polymeric compounds," Michael A. Melotto, Sr.; "Mixing cycles and procedures for polymeric compounds," Richard Grossman; "Setting up factory processing lines," William F. Flaherty; "Analysis of mixing procedures for specific compounds," Richard Grossman; "Internal mixers," Lefteris N. Valsamis; "Mixing EPDM compounds and polymer blends," Charanjit S. Chodha; and "Mixing and curing silicone compounds," Mike DePino. Technical presentations on Wednesday, March 28, will include: "Calendering polymeric compounds," Lawrence R. Gooch; "Operation and maintenance of polymer processing equipment," Guy Tiso III; and "Additives that affect mixing procedures," Anthony Ferradino. Technical presentations on Thursday, March 29, will include "Mixing compounds for tire components," Marty Hannon; "Processing solid urethane and EPDM/silicone elastomers," Tom Jablonowski; "Preventing polymer degradation during mixing," Russell Mazzeo; "Continuous mixing of polymeric compounds," Frank J. Borzonski; and "Test methods for carbon black dispersion," Ken Beardsley. The fee for this course is $495 and includes a bound course curriculum, the latest edition of the R.T.
