Conkers ban 'nuts'.

CONKERS have been banned by another school - over fears they may spark nut allergies.

Headteacher Gary Postlethwaite believes horse chestnuts may be a threat to his pupils.

But even allergy campaigners didn't back his ban at Bookwell Primary in Egremont, Cumbria.

There are no recorded cases of anyone falling seriously ill through conker poisoning.

The ban follows a primary in Carlisle insisting kids wear goggles to play the game. Conkers campaigner MEP Martin Callanan said: "Words fail me. I am in despair."
