Cong ' indecision' triggers protests across Telangana.

THE statement made by Andhra Pradesh AICC in- charge Ghulam Nabi Azad that the Centre won't be able to take a decision on the Telangana issue before the " selfimposed" deadline of January 28 triggered protests across the region on Thursday.

Educational institutions across Telangana observed a shutdown following the bandh call given by the Osmania University ( OU) Students' Joint Action Committee in protest against the " delaying tactics of the Congress high command". The bandh was supported by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Telangana Political Joint Action Committee.

The OU students' committee representatives laid siege to senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao's residence in Banjara Hills. They alleged that Ramachandra was the brain behind the lobbying by Seemandhra ( Andhra and Rayalaseema) leaders in New Delhi, bringing pressure on the Centre to delay the Telangana statehood.

Meanwhile, Congress vicepresident Rahul Gandhi on Thursday cancelled a meeting sought by ministers and MLAs from Seemandhra region.
