Conformative Systems Names New CEO; Former Sun Microsystems Executive, Paul Rochester, Joins Enterprise Computer System Company in Its Austin Headquarters.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Conformative Systems Inc., a developer of high-performance computer systems, today named Paul Rochester as the company's new chief executive officer. Rochester brings more than 30 years of executive leadership in capacities including sales, management consulting and general management to his new position. Prior to joining Conformative, Rochester was vice president and general manager of the global professional services division for Sun Microsystems Inc. (NASDAQ:SUNW). Conformative's co-founder, and first CEO, John Derrick, will stay with the company as the chief strategy officer and will remain on the Board of Directors.

Rochester joined Conformative Systems to help launch the (CSXi)(TM) server appliance and generate market share among enterprise datacenter customers. "Paul brings tremendous business acumen and global contacts to this position. He is joining just as the value in Conformative's technology is being recognized by businesses and industry leaders alike," said Basil Horangic, general partner at Austin Ventures. "Paul's experience in aligning technology with critical customer requirements will be invaluable as the company continues developing the first and only parallel processing hardware platform for accelerating XML processing in Web services and Service Oriented Architectures."

At Sun Microsystems, Rochester was responsible for building one of Sun's fastest growing businesses, growing 50 percent per year. This billion dollar division of Sun, eventually became a field force of more than 5,000 professionals on six continents, selling and engineering complex IT infrastructure and Web services solutions for global 2000 customers. His responsibilities expanded to include managing Sun's internal global IT, call center and network infrastructure.

Prior to Sun, Rochester was a senior partner with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) where he ran industry and geographic business units, leading senior executives in business re-engineering and mission critical IT projects. Prior to CSC, he was a partner with Ernst & Young and held management and sales positions with SHL Systemhouse and Honeywell Information Systems. Rochester has an MBA from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University in Canada.

"I am joining Conformative at a time when XML processing cost is becoming a rapidly growing pain point in the data center, driven by Web services and Service Oriented Architectures coming online," said Rochester. "We offer a unique and industry-leading solution to that problem."
