Confessor looks a Kempton winner; Saraband.

THE Confessor won with any amount in hand at Southwell a week ago, and another bold show can be expected in the Epsom Trainers Open Day August 22nd Handicap at Kempton today.

Two placed efforts from three juvenile starts suggested the Piccolo colt had a level of ability, but there can be little doubt he has found huge progression over the winter. Henry Candy's charge made a winning return to action in a Salisbury maiden which could not have worked out better, with the five who finished directly behind him all winning at least once since.

He then ran out a game winner of a handicap at the same track before switching to the all-weather, where he was even more impressive as he slammed his rivals by four and a half lengths and more.

Given he is likely to suffer a hefty rise in the weights, it is hardly surprising connections have turned him out quickly under a penalty and he must go well, even taking into account the fact this is a much better contest.

Falling Angel has shown more than enough to suggest she can pop her head in front for the first time in the digibet.com Fillies' Handicap. Having filled the runner-up spot on her first two starts, Paul Cole stepped the filly up to Group class at Royal Ascot, where she ultimately had her limitations exposed.

However, she has run well twice this season, most recently chasing home a decent sort in Naddwah at Leicester - and a similar effort could be enough to see her win this.

Sir Michael Stoute appears to have found Cabal Weekend round-up the perfect opportunity to return to winning ways in the Trinidad And Tobago Steel Pan Fillies' Handicap at Windsor. 39 The daughter of Kyllachy has not finished outside the first three in six career starts and she showed a good attitude when recording her sole victory at Doncaster in June.
