Concerns about Canadian religious conference.
To the Canadian Bishops: I am very concerned regarding the organization representing Canadian Religious Orders and its letter of open dissent from Rome. When I read their statement I was alarmed by their claim they represent over 200 religious communities in Canada. They are asking you, our Bishops, to support their position.I joined the Church 53 years ago and to my dismay the loyalty and obedience to Rome and the Holy Father have been deteriorating, thus confusing the Catholic laity who love the Church. We expect our Bishops to be clear and definitive in their teaching and shepherding. I am old and do not have that many years left, but I am very concerned about what kind of Church my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are going to inherit.
Unless you, our Bishops, begin to support the historical and traditional position of the Catholic Church, I worry that a similar situation to that of King Henry VIII could happen again.
Catholics who only want to weaken the Church, and who introduce erroneous opinions, are the people who seem to have your ear.
Is it not time to reaffirm the position of the CCCB regarding what I trust is your total fidelity to the Magisterium and the Holy Father? Yours, a loyal son of the Church.
